About Us

The American Blockchain Initiative is a 501(c)(4) organization based in Washington, DC. Our organization's mission is to promote and educate lawmakers on the critical importance of blockchain technology as it relates to American competitiveness and to promote responsible innovation to advance American leadership in DLTs.

As blockchain technologies and digital currencies continue to grow and improve across the globe, ABI seeks to provide US legislators and regulators with the necessary insight to provide meaningful regulations to this technology while using it to expand America’s role in the blockchain ecosystem and development of real-world use cases.

The United States has the potential to take up the development of these critical emerging technologies, and that with the right policy environment the blockchain industry can thrive while serving the needs of the American people and economy. We believe the blockchain industry should engage in a proactive and educational dialogue with lawmakers and regulators to promote regulation that incentivizes responsible innovation.

Educating policymakers and the policymaking community of the threats posed by global competitors on what could and will happen if the U.S. does not lead in the new frontier of public blockchain technology. As with all new technologies, new approaches are needed to prevent bad-actors from utizling innovations. Blockchain native solutions are needed for AML and law enforcement to successfully investigate and arrest criminals.
